What is InteliCAD?

InteliCAD is an HVAC Computer Aided Drafting and Fabrication program.

The drafting program works inside of AutoCAD® to draw ductwork. The fabrication program then receives the information from the drawing, assigns the gauge, connectors, seams, vanes, liner and reinforcements per your standards, and provides you with numerous reports. The program then interfaces with plasma table software that nests and cut the parts.

The drafting program consists of routines which do much of the work for you. InteliCAD is programmed in a combination of programming languages. LISP is an artificial intelligence programming language used to produce solutions to the problems encountered by our users in their daily work. For example, our round elbows allow you to simply provide the angle you wish to turn in plan view and the slope angle desired on end #2. The program calculates the actual elbow angle and rotation needed (within 0.0005°). It also tracks your elevation and labels your drawing. This tells the people in the field know how much to twist the elbow to achieve the desired results.

There are literally hundreds of such features to help you draw quickly and intelligently. InteliCAD's tools can perform calculations in seconds which would otherwise take a skilled draftsman many hours. InteliCAD draws both in 2-D and 3-D with elevation tracking and continuous "on-line" collision checking.

InteliCAD was first created in 1988 by a major sheet metal contractor with over 40 years of sheet metal experience. Each year, hundreds of millions of dollars of ductwork is created by our users. InteliCAD is an AutoCAD® registered developer. We are also an associate member of SMACNA. No one else in the industry can provide a better tool to draw and fabricate your ductwork.

InteliCAD is easy to learn. Most of our operators come right out of the industry with no previous CAD experience and draw productively after only 3 days of training. It takes (1) additional day to learn the fabrication / download program. A working understanding of AutoCAD® is preferred, and enhances the learning process.
